Requirements for Appointment
- Must have served as a senior Library officer or in comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of ten (10) years;
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in social sciences or its equivalent; and
- Demonstrated ability and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The principal library officer will be charged with the day to day running of the library;
- Would be in constant touch with the division of library, research and information;
- Places book request and other materials and equipment’s;
- Undertaking book repairs;
- Filing of catalogue cards;
- Newspaper and journals cuttings;
- Photos and slide;
- File maintenance; and
- General supervision of library maintenance (cleanness, repairs and security)
