Perfusionist (Assistant Registered Clinical Officer/ Nursing Officer) at Kenyatta National Hospital
Job Description
Job Purpose
An officer at this level shall be responsible to the Head of Department- Cardiology for effective provision of quality health care services in the Hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities
- History taking, examining, diagnosing, education and treating common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient in the hospital.
- Implementing community health care activities in liaison with other health workers.
- Guiding and counselling patients, clients and staff on health issues.
- Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health.
- Carrying out minor surgical procedures as per training and skills.
- Assessing, preparing and presenting medico-legal reports.
- Training, guiding and mentoring students on internship.
Qualifications and Experience
- Higher Diploma in Perfusion or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery or Diploma in Registered Community Health Nursing or there equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya or Nursing Council of Kenya
- Valid practicing licence from relevant professional body.
- Evidence in Proficiency in Computer Application
