Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Developing interactive design briefs by gathering information and data through research
  2. Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches
  3. Monitoring emerging new technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as In Design, QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3dsMax, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash
  4. Working on layouts and art working pages ready for print
  5. Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
  6. Receiving and enhancing picture quality for press
  7. Designing animated video messages for publication
  8. Preparing and sending design pages to press
  9. Prioritizing, monitoring and tracking production projects to ensure timely
  10. completion of the same, and giving a final report. Any other duties that may be
  11. assigned by the Senior Information Officer or Director

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan Citizen
  2. Diploma-holder in Graphic Design or Journalism from a recognized institution, with 5 years ‘working experience
  3. Proficient in computer applications
  4. Proven skills in video animation designing.
  5. Good communication and team-playing skills
  6. Excellent time management approach and ability to meet set deadlines
  7. Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and reporting skills
  8. Be a registered member of a professional body in the area of specialization
