Job Description
Our company is seeking a competent Operations Director to lead and oversee all physical operations of the company. The role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities of the company’s operations teams. The ideal candidate will participate in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on broad organizational goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct all physical operations of the company, including logistics, pickup and delivery of produce, time management, and related works.
- Develop and establish operating policies consistent with the CEO’s broad policies and objectives and ensure their adequate execution.
- Appraise and evaluate the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and report these results to the CEO.
- Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the operations teams and ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
- Design and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures to promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality.
- Ensure staff members complete all their assignments efficiently, stick to a budget, and follow marketing strategies.
- Maintain budgets and optimize expenses, evaluate and improve operations and financial performance, and provide solutions to issues.
- Participate in expansion activities, implement changes and proposed plans, and engage in media obligations and public relations.
- Set precedence for the working culture and environment, promote employee welfare, and ensure employees work productively and develop professionally.
- Assist CEO in fundraising ventures, write and submit reports to the CEO on all matters of importance, and oversee recruitment and training of new employees.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Business/ Chemistry or a relevant field (MSc/MA is a plus)
- At least 10 years of experience in managing a team and multiple operational functions
- Knowledge of the production of Spirits & Ethanol is an added advantage
- Experience in planning and budgeting, and knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, outstanding organizational and leadership skills, and problem-solving aptitude
- Industry knowledge, business planning, integrity, people-oriented & financial administration, and general management stakeholder engagement & analytical skills
- Strategic leadership, team player, detailed-oriented, good decision-maker, emotional and cultural intelligence, and deductive and interpretive reasoning
- Able to travel and have a clean disciplinary and criminal record, and a valid Driving License
