Financial Analyst at UNEP
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial principles and practices, with the ability to conduct independent research and analysis to support decision-making. This individual should demonstrate professionalism, exceptional planning and organizational skills, and a commitment to teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial analysis and present recommendations to management
- Interpret financial data and communicate results to management
- Ensure gender perspectives are incorporated in all areas of work
- Develop and prioritize goals aligned with organizational strategies
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals
- Apply private sector or public sector accounting standards such as IFRS or IPSAS
- Utilize systems such as SAP or ERP to manage financial data
- Prepare financial statements
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and procedures
Requirements:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, finance, or related area
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, budget, business administration or related area
- Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable
- Fluency in English is required
- Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage
