Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice, focusing on the company’s financing business, including drafting and negotiating contracts.
- Reviewing financial contracts and the related documentation while liaising with external counsel where necessary.
- Overseeing deal structuring, deal negotiation, and deal closing for investments and providing BURN with post-investment legal support.
- Performing Due diligence on potential investments by reviewing all financial records and past company performance to confirm all facts.
- Reporting and escalating appropriate finance legal matters on an ongoing and regular basis to the line manager.
Skills and Experience
- Have 5+ years of experience as a multinational company or law firm deal lawyer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law and active practice license in Kenya.
- Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience conducting labor and employment-related investigations.
- Experience with employee benefits and compensation plans.
- Have experience managing outside counsel.
- Proven experience in resolving international legal issues across borders and multi-jurisdictions.
- A team player capable of working independently on multiple issues in a fast-paced, multicultural environment while emphasizing the overall corporate mission, policies, and goals.
