Practical Action in Eastern Africa

As an International Development Organization, we apply creative ideas to empower those living in poverty and enable them to transform their world. Our focus is on finding solutions to some of the world’s most challenging problems, which are further exacerbated by the impact of climate change and persistent gender inequality. We collaborate with communities to create sustainable, locally-driven solutions that address issues such as agriculture, water and waste management, climate resilience, and clean energy. Our goal is to disseminate successful solutions to a wider audience, allowing small beginnings to lead to significant changes. Our team is a global network of change-makers, consisting of a UK-based charity with community initiatives across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, an independent development publishing company, and a technical consulting service. By combining our expertise, we aim to increase our impact and help build a better world that benefits all.
